Ashleigh utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy- Insomnia (CBT-I) to help clients combat insomnia, or sleep difficulties. CBT-I follows a 10-week long protocol, where you will meet with Ashleigh once a week for 10 weeks. After the 10 weeks are over, sleep issues are usually minimized. If sessions are still desired, the session may focus more about worries or distressing thoughts/feelings that may still be present impacting sleep.

  • Sleep therapy is for someone who is experiences difficulties falling asleep, staying asleep, or feeling rested after their long sleep of the day. It is an opportunity to improve methods around sleep in order to retrain your body and brain to rest when it is time to.

  • You don’t have to prepare for a sleep therapy session. During the first session, Ashleigh will gather background information regarding your sleep routine, schedule, and any other factors to help Ashleigh understand what the time right before you sleep, during your time trying to sleep, and after you wake up looks like.

  • Ashleigh follows the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy- Insomnia protocol for sleep therapy. During the first session, Ashleigh will introduce the sleep protocol to you and what the duration of sessions will look like. The sleep protocol is 10 weeks long, where you and Ashleigh will meet weekly for those 10 weeks. After those 10 weeks, session can continue if desired by you.

Along with the 10 week long commitment, there is some “homework” that will be asked of you. Along side the sessions, you will be asked to download an app on your device. Through this app, Ashleigh will assign exercises where you can write down a couple details about your sleep and watch a quick informative video where the app will introduce a new skill. These exercises will take around 5 minutes a day to complete.

The exercises are critical to complete and Ashleigh can see what you have completed that way she can tack details regarding progression or regression. During the sessions together, Ashleigh will touch base with how your progress is doing and provide skills and education that is relevant to your sleep difficulties.
